Michael Chesbro is a Crime and Intelligence Analyst, Security Technologist, and Specialist in Anti-Terrorism and Protective Intelligence. He is a Board Certified Forensic Examiner, Certified Forensic Consultant, a Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners and a diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Examiners and the American Board of Law Enforcement Experts. He holds degrees in criminal justice, security management, and paralegal studies, certificates in forensic science from Ashworth University and from the American Institute of Applied Science, and a certificate in Legal Investigations from Texas A&M University in conjunction with the Center for Legal Studies. Michael is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the F.B.I. Citizens' Academy, and is professionally certified as a Protection Officer (CPO) and Security Supervisor (CSS) by the International Foundation for Protection Officers, Certified In Homeland Security (CHS-III), and Sensitive Security Information (SSI-Certified) by the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security, certified as an Anti-Terrorism Specialist (CAS) by the Anti-Terrorism Accreditation Board, and certified as a Crime and Intelligence Analyst (CCIA) by the California Department of Justice and the California State University at Sacramento.

Additionally, he has completed the Certified Homeland Security Operations Officer, Certified Physical Security Officer, Close Protection Agent, and Basic Immigration Enforcement training courses offered by Advanced Systems Technology, Inc. (HITS Institute); the Anti-Terrorism Officer course, and Bomb Security for Executive Protection course through the S2 Safety & Intelligence Institute, the U.S. Army Anti-Terrorism Training Course (Level-II), the Anti-Terrorism Instructor Qualification Course at the JFK Special Warfare Center and School, Terrorism Awareness for Marines through the Marine Corps Institute, the Headquarters Marine Corps Security Division Curriculum, the USAF Force Protection-II course through the USAF Special Operations School, the Department of the Navy Critical Infrastructure Protection Program, the Anti-Terrorism Officer Level-II course through the Defense Security Service Academy, the Anti-Terrorism Intelligence Awareness course from the Florida Regional Community Policing Institute, the Intelligence in Terrorism Counteraction course at the US Army Military Intelligence School at Fort Huachuca, AZ, the Global Terrorism program through the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, and the Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection courses through the National Terrorism Preparedness Institute at St. Petersburg College. Michael has also earned a Certificate in Terrorism Prevention for Law Enforcement Professionals from the Institute for Preventive Strategies, has completed the Intelligence in Combating Terrorism - Anti-Terrorism course through the University of Military Intelligence, and has completed the Law Enforcement Response to Terrorism course from the Backup Training Corporation - consisting of: Terrorism: A Police Perspective, Criminal Interdiction, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Respiratory Compliance, Document Identification and Deception, and Domestic Terrorist Groups.

While in military service, Michael served as a Counterintelligence Special Agent, graduating from both the Advance Foreign Counterintelligence Training Course (AFCITC) and the Counterintelligence Force Protection Source Operations (CFSO) course. Michael is a graduate of the Defense Language Institute, with qualifications in both the German and Dutch languages, and lived and worked for several years in Europe. He earned the US Army Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, Royal Thai Army Airborne Wings from the Royal Thai Army Special Warfare Center, and Canadian Para-Wings awarded by 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Following his retirement as a Senior Counterintelligence Agent with the U.S. Department of Defense Special Operations (last serving with the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne)), Michael now works as a Criminal Intelligence Specialist, supporting DoD Law Enforcement Operations, and devotes his time to writing, technical research and security consulting.

He is an active member of a number of professional security organizations, to include the F.B.I. Infragard program, the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the International Association of Crime Analysts, and the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts.

He is the author of several books covering a wide range of topics from personal privacy to computer security to wilderness survival and radio communications.

Michael is a nationally registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and has completed the Law Enforcement Tactical Lifesaver course. He is an amateur radio operator – call sign: KD7KLA, a GMRS radio operator - call sign: WQFR425, and a military MARS Radio Station operator - call sign: AAR0MR. He holds black-belts in both Hakko Ryu Jujutsu and Kuntao Silat, and he is an Endowment Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and holds NRA Expert Qualification in both rifle and pistol.
